Our program has some similarities to the Reggio Emilia approach (and other progressive educational philosophies) as well as some differences. Like Reggio Emilia, we believe that children should have control over what they spend their time doing, as well as a rich hands-on relationship with activities and materials for creative expression. We very much agree with the idea that adults are co-learners with children. However, we do not require our counselors to document or report on the work of the campers. We believe that campers should be allowed the opportunity to make their own decisions about what aspects of their work and play they want to present.
