In California, Organized Camps are under the jurisdiction of the California Department of Health and therefore exempt from Child Care Licensing, which is overseen by the Department of Social Services. All of our California camps are accredited by the American Camp Association, and the Department of Social Services has previously recognized that accreditation as qualifying us for exemption from licensure. Each Spring, we reach out to all local health departments to notify them of our operations to ensure that we're satisfying all of their requirements for Day Camps. Since licensing requirements and exemptions do change from time-to-time, we'll continue to monitor and respond to updates in our requirements as a Day Camp in California.

Our camps in Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia are all licensed by health departments or child care licensing authorities depending on the state requirements.

Illinois, Oregon, and Washington do not have any day camp regulations that we are required to follow. In these states we follow the best practices dictated by our other camps.
